Alcohol and Drug Screening & Referral

Our alcohol and drug screening and referral services help individuals determine the best course of treatment based on their unique needs. We use the Kansas Client Placement Criteria (KCPC), an assessment tool that evaluates six key areas of an individual’s life to determine whether a substance use disorder exists and what level of treatment is required.

The Six Areas of Focus:

  1. Potential for Acute Intoxication and/or Withdrawal – Assessing whether an individual needs immediate medical detoxification.
  2. Biomedical Conditions and Complications – Identifying any existing health conditions that may affect recovery.
  3. Emotional/Behavioral Conditions or Complications – Evaluating mental health concerns that could impact treatment.
  4. Treatment Acceptance/Resistance – Understanding an individual’s willingness to engage in recovery.
  5. Relapse Potential – Determining risk factors that could lead to relapse.
  6. Recovery Environment – Evaluating an individual’s support system and living conditions to ensure a stable recovery plan.

We also offer referrals to social detox, outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient programs based on assessment results.
